We delightedly present you with Galactapus, the sci-fi garage-prog collective from Minneapolis, whose members reman nameless and faceless by request. Galactapus offers this stop-gap holiday cash-in EP You Better Not Cry while in the throes of developing their follow-up to the critically lauded I Intend To Stay LP.
You Better Not Cry is an assemblage of December tapes archived from years past to present. Galactapus claims to have "about a dozen hundred hours" of this material on tape, but have carefully selected songs damaged and de-constructed enough to sidestep any publishing infringements and subsequent legal peril. Still, seasonal references in the compositions are as unmistakable as they are sacrilegious.
Says a Galactapus member: "These songs should resonate well with people who love Christmas music, but especially well with people who totally hate it. But made by people who dig it. To paraphrase our mantra, we make Christmas music with an actual reason to exist, despite the increasingly high bar."
